Productivity and Cell Phones

More evidence that our phones diminish productivity.  PUT ‘EM AWAY!!!  There are very few emergencies in life so why do we tarnish the moment that we’re in by involving ourselves somewhere else that our phone takes us?  It’s really quite pathetic.  Most individuals carry their phones with them EVERYWHERE-even if they are walking into a friend’s home, a quick errand into a store, a function for their children….STOP AMERICA!!!!  Focus and be present-time conscious.

“No Interruptions Please. Short interruptions (such as the few seconds it takes to silence that buzzing smart phone) have a surprisingly large effect on one’s ability to accurately complete a task. Interruptions of just three seconds can double your chances for making errors.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, January 2013

Many people find themselves at their most productive if they go to work very early in the morning before all the distractions start up. They get more accomplished in those first few hours than during the entire rest of their day.”
